If you love candles like I do, then you have heard experts talk about the best wax for making candles. Some people prefer natural waxes and some prefer paraffin waxes. But for the most part, a candle-maker will favor one or the other.
Although both of these candle waxes have their pros and cons, I believe that one wax is not necessary better than another. It is really up to the candle-maker to decide which wax they prefer to work with and what type of candles they are making. Another consideration is who is using your candles. Are you making candles for yourself and your family or are you making candles to sell? If you are making candles to sell, you will need to know your target market.
Let’s look at both the natural wax and the paraffin wax to determine which one would be better suited to your needs. 홈타이
Paraffin candle wax has been around for a very long time. Paraffin wax is a petroleum-based product and therefore, buying paraffin wax supports the petroleum industry. Some candle-makers do not want to support the petroleum industry and therefore will not use this product. Paraffin wax, because it is a petroleum product, produces more smoke and potentially hazardous pollutants into the air than a natural wax.
Paraffin wax, obviously, has some major drawbacks, but it also has some benefits. Paraffin wax will hold its fragrance better, much longer and easier than a natural wax will. The strength of the scent, or scent throw as it is called, is much stronger from a paraffin wax candle than a natural wax candle. The scent from these candles will fill a larger room better than a natural wax candle. There is also more fragrance seepage with a natural candle than with a paraffin candle. It is easier to work with paraffin wax and requires less additives and adjustments when using it.
Natural candle wax such as soy, beeswax and palm wax are becoming a favorite to candle-makers because of their natural and beneficial properties. The natural candle waxes are, however, more expensive, but not enough to make this type of wax non-affordable.
Natural waxes are softer than paraffin wax so it is harder to obtain a strong scent throw or to get a heavier fragrance oil to blend with them. Most people who use paraffin wax are using it because their candles will look better than candles made with the natural waxes. Soy wax has a tendency to frost or form a white residue on the top and sides of the candle. Some natural waxes also have a tendency to form bubbles which is also less attractive.
However, there are many benefits to using natural candle waxes. They do burn cleaner than paraffin wax so you don’t get the sooty build-up on your walls. If you spill some natural wax, it is easier to clean up. You just use soap and water. The major reason that candle-makers use natural candle waxes is that they originate from agriculture instead of the petroleum industry. Soy wax is derived from soybeans, beeswax is derived from bees and palm wax is gotten from the palm tree.
